Your Crew's Next Job Is Already in Their Pocket — Field Dispatch

SMS dispatch: morning jobs sent to each driver, completions confirmed in natural language, billing built and exported automatically.

Work orders go out automatically every morning as a text. Crews reply when the job is done. Taskwell handles the rest — status updates, asset tracking, and billing — without a single app install.

The problem

Most field service companies dispatch the way they always have: the dispatcher calls or texts each driver individually, or fires off a group message and hopes everyone sees the right part. Confirmations come back as freeform texts scattered across threads. Hours, equipment moved, and mileage get reconstructed from memory at the end of the day, and billing is assembled from incomplete notes and driver recollection. The result is a daily friction tax — chasing confirmations, re-entering data, and reconciling what was delivered against what gets billed. Taskwell replaces this with an automated dispatch workflow that runs on SMS, the channel your crew already uses.

How it works

  • Automatic daily dispatch — every morning Taskwell sends each driver a personalized SMS with their jobs (deliveries, pickups, service calls), pulled directly from the dispatch schedule. Dispatchers see at a glance which jobs are still unassigned and can act before the day starts.
  • Natural language confirmations — when a job is done, the driver texts back in plain language. Taskwell extracts hours worked, equipment moved, and mileage, updates the job status in real time, and sends a confirmation back. High-confidence replies are logged instantly; anything unclear triggers a follow-up.
  • Pre-built billing, one-click export — billing line items are captured when the job is created (labor, trucking, materials, equipment rates), so by the time a driver confirms completion, the bill is already built. Once the job closes, it exports directly to your accounting system as a customer bill — no re-keying, no surprises at invoice time.

“4 Star dispatch for today: Deliver to Acme Energy @ Spraberry Pad. Pick up from Basin Drilling @ Tank 14. Reply when done (tanks moved, hrs, mileage).”

A driver texts back “Done. 3 tanks to Permian, 14 hrs, 85 miles” and Taskwell replies “Got it — 14 hrs, 85 mi on Permian run. Logged.”

What Taskwell tracks that your process doesn’t

  • Real-time asset tracking — every piece of equipment has a status (in yard, deployed, dirty, in maintenance) that Taskwell updates automatically as jobs are dispatched and confirmed. Ask “Which tanks are currently deployed?” or “What’s the status of Tank 14?”
  • Unassigned job visibility — dispatchers see unassigned jobs flagged in their morning summary alongside assigned ones, so gaps in coverage are visible before the day starts. Assign a driver and the crew member gets an updated text automatically.
  • Automatic exception handling — if a driver hasn’t confirmed a completed job by end of day, Taskwell flags it and can send an automatic follow-up. If a reply is ambiguous, Taskwell asks a targeted clarifying question and keeps asking until the record is complete.

What you get

  • Drivers start the day knowing exactly what they have — no calls, no confusion
  • Job confirmations come in automatically — no chasing at end of day
  • Hours, equipment, and mileage captured in real time — no end-of-week reconstruction
  • Billing built at job creation and confirmed by crew data — invoices go out faster and more accurately
  • Asset status always current, so dispatchers know what’s available before committing it
  • A full audit trail on every job — who drove it, what moved, when it was done, what it billed

No app. No portal. Just a text — available as an add-on to the base Taskwell platform subscription, with predictable per-user pricing that scales with your crew, not your message volume.
